Momentum In Transformation

Spring is here, the grass is coming up through the dry leaves and fresh rain covers the days. This time of the year can be refreshing with the days warming up from the deep cold winter. If you look closely you can see the transformation happening all around you and the momentum in which it is occurs is breathtaking. For some this is inspiring. A new season, a new page to turn in your journey. For others it can feel like your being pushed forward into a new season when you still have not fully embraced the yesterdays. It can feel like your being dragged into the next day and you have not let go of the yesterday. You recognize your momentum is creating friction in the transformation.

Change can be hard for anyone, one resource that can help you through it is being present in the moment. Staying grounded in the current day and absorbing all that you can in the "now". You can't change the past and the future is going to come if you are ready or not. The best we can do when life's momentum is moving ahead of us is to stop and just be present here, in the now. The world is patient. It will allow you to make a mistake and give you the opportunity to learn from it or let you sit with it, all the while moving forward in transformation all around you.

Take the seasonal change, while spring is here, we are all familiar with the late winter storm. The grass is already growing, the birds are out, the flowers are budding and yet a deep cold falls across it all. The momentum of change is rocked and everything can look chaotic and disorganized. Yet, the next day the sun is out shining and the transformation of spring continues to occur - it never stopped even in that late winter storm. You can't always plan those 'winter days in the middle of spring' but you can stay present and grounded in the chaos. Working through the challenges of the day at hand, with what you have, where you are.

Stay present even when transformation and momentum are full speed ahead. Your days become richer with observations and memories. In life you can have both the present and past in a mindful day. That is truly embracing the momentum of tranformation.
